Rhode Island names new Boating Law Administrator
Lt. Michael Schipritt
The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is excited to welcome Lieutenant Michael Schipritt, the new Boating Law Administrator (BLA) for the state of Rhode Island.

Lt. Michael Schipritt has been with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Law Enforcement (Environmental Police) for more than 18 years. He spent his first eight years in the marine patrol unit and the following eight years in one of the upland areas. Lt. Schipritt has been a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) officer, as well as a range officer and an active shooter instructor.

Lt. Schipritt is currently the administrative lieutenant for the department overseeing the communications center, boating safety program, and other assorted tasks.

Lt. Schipritt is married and the father to two young boys. He spends much of his off-duty time with his family hunting and carving decoys. Lt. Schipritt can be reached by email at
