New Jersey names new Boating Law Administrator

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is excited to welcome Sergeant First Class (SFC) Christopher Jones, the new Boating Law Administrator (BLA) for the state of New Jersey.

Chris was promoted to Sergeant First Class on January 2, 2021 and currently serves as the Assistant Station Commander of Burlington and Bivalve Marine Stations situated along the Delaware River and Bay.
 
SFC Jones graduated the 137th New Jersey State Police Recruit Class in 2004 and was assigned to various stations within the Field Operations Section, Troop “A”. In 2007 he was selected for the Marine Services Bureau (MSB) within the Special Operations Section. As a Trooper, Chris was assigned to various marine stations including Atlantic City, Burlington and Bivalve.  

Upon being promoted to Sergeant in November of 2013, SFT Jones was transferred to MSB Headquarters in Trenton. During this assignment, SFT Jones assisted with the NASBLA Accreditation for the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), participated as the liaison for the New Jersey Boat Regulation Commission, conducted the NJSP Basic Marine Law Enforcement Course for members of multiple law enforcement agencies, served as the Unmanned Aircraft Coordinator, managed the New Jersey Boat Safety Certificate Program, which, at the time, consisted of over 135 approved vendors employing in excess of 400 instructors, and also served on NASBLA's Enforcement and Training Committee for multiple years.
 
SFT Jones is excited about this opportunity to work collectively with a group of industry professionals for the advancement of boating safety, education and enforcement.
