I was referring more to the folks using these in lieu of nav lights. We already have problems with SUPs after sunset sans light, I can see people claiming these are all they need. :)

Perfectly legal here in Florida where that company is based out of. It seems like every boat on the water has underwater lights anymore. Of course they still need proper navigation lights.
