Brian Rehwinkel (Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission) gives an update on the current status of new life jacket labeling. This information was reported at the Life Jacket Association annual meeting held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in June.

The update will include a brief history of the labelling effort, an update on when new labels will be appearing, and a reminder that – even with the new label – nothing changes as far as the need to read the label, look for the US Coast Guard approval number, and confirm the basic intended use for that particular life jacket.
