Bio

I moved to Alaska in 1992 after visiting for the summer and falling in love with the ocean and the mountains. I have worked for Alaska State Parks for 20 years, starting out as a volunteer in Kachemak Bay State Park. I have also worked as a park ranger in Anchor Point and on the Kenai River. I graduated with a B.A. Degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
I have a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate, am a certified Firefighter I and EMT-I.
Nationally certified Boating Safety Instructor, state certified ETT Instructor and BLS Instructor, APSC certified Police Instructor and Field Training Officer.
I was hired as the Education Coordinator for the Alaska Boating Safety Program in 2002.
I was the recipient of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators’ Boating Safety Award in 2006.
Live in Anchorage with my wife and daughter, Noelle and Rebecca.
