Mississippi names new Boating Law Administrator

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) would like to welcome Captain Megan Fedrick, the new Boating Law Administrator (BLA) for the state of Mississippi.

Cpt. Megan Fedrick began her career with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks in 1999. Throughout the years, she has held positions as an officer, biologist, and educator. Currently, she is the Director of Hunter and Boater Education. Cpt. Fedrick facilitates both statewide education programs and assists with the Mississippi Scholastic Shooting Sports program. Her duties also include overseeing hunting and boating incidents throughout the state, training new officers, and coordinating statewide youth events.

Cpt. Fedrick received her master’s degree in Biology from Delta State University in 2002. She was voted Mississippi Wildlife Federation’s Conservation Officer of the Year in 2003, and served as the 2007-2008 President of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. She was also Project WILD Facilitator of the year in 2008, and the Mississippi Science Teachers Association Informal Science Teacher of the Year in 2013. Cpt. Fedrick is currently the Vice President of the International Hunter Education Association.

Megan and her husband, Bryan, are both wildlife professionals. They reside in Clinton, MS with their 4 year old son.
