On June 16, 2023, Gwendolynn Flynn with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP), passed the Certified Recreational Boating Professional (CRPB) exam and was awarded her CRBP certification. The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is pleased to recognize Wendy Flynn as the fifth person to achieve the CRBP credential.

The CRBP certification is a voluntary credential for recreational boating professionals developed by NASBLA. The credential is broad-based and addresses boating professionals’ knowledge, performance, and career achievements in the identified program domains.

Wendy Flynn is an Environmental Analyst III with CT DEEP’s Boating Division. She is the lead staff person responsible for boating safety outreach and education within the state. In addition to this, Flynn has taken a principal role in Connecticut’s Clean Vessel Act (CVA) education program. She has served three years on the NASBLA Paddlesports and Education & Outreach Committees.

Prior to joining the Boating Division in 2005, Flynn was employed by a coastal engineering firm specializing in the design of boating access structures and worked in DEEP’s coastal zone management program conducting permitting and enforcement duties. Flynn earned a Bachelor of Science in Coastal Studies from the University of Connecticut. She also recently attended the June offering of the 2023 NASBLA RBS Leadership Academy.

Please join NASBLA in congratulating Wendy Flynn for achieving the title of Certified Recreational Boating Professional!
