The CRBP certification, developed by NASBLA, is a voluntary credential designed to recognize recreational boating professionals for their knowledge, performance, and career achievements across key program domains.
Captain Josh Landrum has served in conservation law enforcement for 17 years. He began his career as a Conservation Enforcement Officer in Alabama, where he served for three years before joining the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) in 2011. He currently serves as a statewide Boating Investigator.
Throughout his career, Captain Landrum has conducted numerous boat incident investigations, often collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies on large-scale and complex cases. A certified fire investigator, he assists with marine fire investigations across Tennessee and instructs Marine Fire Investigations courses for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and various fire departments.
Captain Landrum is also an active instructor for NASBLA’s Boating Under the Influence (BUI) Seated Field Sobriety Testing and Advanced BUI courses. Additionally, he is a lead instructor for NASBLA’s Inland Boat Operations program.
Beyond his investigative and instructional roles, Captain Landrum serves on NASBLA’s Engineering, Reporting & Analysis Committee (ERAC), where he applies his expertise and passion for boating safety to advance best practices and improve boating incident investigations nationwide.
