The State RBS Workshop began on March 11 and concludes on March 12. This annual two-day event provides state boating authorities with an opportunity to attend sessions on current and emerging issues affecting boating program management. Attendees will also engage in open discussions with colleagues on topics related to state recreational boating safety programs.
In conjunction with the workshop, NASBLA’s policy committees will hold their spring meetings on March 13. The six committees convening this week include Education & Outreach; Enforcement & Training; Engineering, Reporting & Analysis (ERAC); Finance & Grants; Paddlesports; and Vessel Identification, Registration & Titling (VIRT).
The second annual Education Seminar will take place March 14–15. This day-and-a-half event is designed for recreational boating safety education professionals and will focus on key topics such as paddlesports safety, updates on life jacket regulations, and best practices in state education programs. Additional discussions will cover effective boating safety messaging and strategies for fostering strong partnerships. The seminar will conclude with a live flare demonstration.
