National Paddlesports Committee Honors 12 Companies for Promoting Paddling Safety Online
Lexington, KY — The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), in partnership with its Paddlesports Committee, proudly announces the inaugural recipients of the 2025 National Paddlesports Committee Honors (NPCH). This new recognition celebrates paddlesports manufacturers, retailers, and liveries that demonstrate a strong commitment to paddling safety through their digital content.
The honors were announced during the 66th Annual NASBLA Conference, with recipients recognized at the Paddlesports Trade Coalition event in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In an era when social media often prioritizes aesthetics over safety, the NPCH program highlights organizations that use their platforms to promote responsible paddling practices. Honorees were selected based on their social media presence, including the visibility of life jackets and other safety gear, support for initiatives such as National Safe Boating Week, and messaging that discourages risky behaviors like alcohol use while paddling.
“Social media has a powerful influence on paddling behavior,” said Stacey Brown, boating division director for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and a NASBLA executive board member. “These companies are setting the standard for how safety can be both visible and valued online.”
