The Coast Guard is pleased to announce the start of the National Recreational Boating Safety Survey (NRBSS), a nationwide effort commissioned by the U.S. Coast Guard's National Recreational Boating Safety Program. This survey is the only comprehensive source of recreational boating data across all 50 states and the District of Columbia and plays a critical role in informing safety and security initiatives on our waterways. The survey is approved by OMB under Information Collection Number 1625-0089.
The survey targets boat owners, individuals who rent or borrow boats, and members of the paddle craft community (kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards).
Currently, we are recruiting boaters with a link and QR code where they can sign up to be selected to take the survey. The link is:

We would appreciate your assistance in distributing information about the survey to law enforcement officers, recreational boaters and boat renters/liveries. All materials can be provided at no cost to you - you may reply to this message or send me an e-mail.

We can provide your officers with QR code stickers to place on literature or inspection forms. We also have informational rack cards that provide boaters with safety information and a link to the survey.

We have flyer templates (attached) that can be printed and posted at key locations like boat ramps, marinas, and access points.

|
