  • 1.  OUI Transfer of points to drivers license

    In Maryland, Boating Safety would like to propose to our legislators a proposal to make OUI infractions transferable to a person's driver's license.  I know there are some States out there that are doing this already.  If you are one of them, can you point me to your State's law so we can read over it and decide how we want to word it to send up as a proposal for consideration in Maryland?  Thank you!!

    Hey Donna, in Louisiana - a DWI on the water carries the same penalties and fines as on the road and includes jail time, fines and loss of driving and boating operator privileges.

    In Arkansas DWI and BWI penalties are exactly the same.
