Julie is the manager of the Boat Titling, Registration & Marine Licensing program with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She received a BBA in Finance from Texas State University and has been with the department for over 18 years, all of which in the boat titling and registration section. The program has seen a lot of changes over the years (all for the better, she's happy to say), and, while not what she thought of as her dream job when she was a kid, she could not ask for a better place or better people with whom to work.
When not working, you can find her painting, gaming, making jewelry, biking or kayaking. She's fortunate to live in a city (Austin) that loves its outdoor spaces and there are hundreds of parks, trails, waterways and outdoor venues within the city and surrounding areas to visit and enjoy year round. Although, she wouldn't necessarily recommend it in August when it's humid and the temperature hovers around 100 degrees every day. Save for a few elementary school years when her family lived just outside of D.C., she's been in Austin all of her life and cannot imagine living anywhere else (except in August – in August she dream's of being in Alaska).
She and her husband have two furry children. Their dog, Toby (who, while normally fiercely loyal, would throw them over in heartbeat for a French fry), and their cat, Isabella.
She thoroughly enjoys being a member of the NASBLA VIRT Committee. She learns a great deal and she thinks the committee gets a lot accomplished. She's looking forward to more productive years ahead!
