The following program was funded by a $10,000 Grant by the State of Rhode Island
Objective :
Develop a plan to present to the community
To develop an Advanced Manufacturing education- Career program in Newport County , similar to the Davies' program in Newport County
Steps:
– funding to Hire a consulting engineer with manufacturing experience to facilitate the design program – One has been identified
-funding for a Host a series of 5- design meetings , 5 month product in the community, completed by December 22nd members to be included are from the Davies Career and technical school , RIMA, MEDAC, retired Manufacturing engineering Personnel ( Raytheon) , Existing Manufacturing executives , existing Teachers, Retire Teachers, state representative Terri couteviend, rhode island CTE staff, and a facilitating consultant with Manufacturing experience
– funding for tour more existing programs, Davie tour is complete Tuesday august 22
– find funding sources- Senator Whitehouse staff has been contacted and wants to be involved
– Contact the Governors staff- has been contacted and – The staff wants to be involved
– Identify funding and / or design for a circle of transportation mechanism to transport regainal students to the program design meetings , 5 month product in the community, Again the above will be completed by December 22nd.
